The Vikings will see another member of an overmatched 2022 defense go elsewhere in 2023.

Via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Browns are expected to sign defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson.

It reportedly will be a four-year, $57 million deal with $27.5 million guaranteed.

As usual, the full structure and breakdown will reveal what the contract is truly worth, and how long it’s likely to last.

Tomlinson lasted two years in Minnesota, after four with the Giants.

Last year, Tomlinson appeared in 13 games, with six starts. He had 2.5 sacks.

  1. Considering how disastrous the Vikings defense was, is it really so bad that a lot of the starters are leaving? Maybe not Peterson, but the others? I felt some of their good PFF grades were very deceiving.

  2. Good job, Cleveland- you “poached” a starting DT from the NFL’s 31st rated defense.

  3. About $14 Mill per for a guy who has 13 sacks in 6 seasons & missed 25% of the gms last yr? Maybe the Browns confused him w/ Dalvin Cook. Did they not learn from the Deshaun Watson contract?

  4. Seems like a massive over pay for a guy who didn’t even start last year. As the Browns ignore better options and local options like dre’mont jones. Browns fans are insane when they put all this trust in Berry who’s claim to fame is drafting a solid WR in rd 6 in Donovan Peoples Jones.

  5. That’s 57 million that could have gone towards the purchase of a new stadium the the Haslams want.

  6. Tomlinson wants to win a Superbowl and thinks the Cleveland Browns have a better shot at it than the Vikings. Not saying he is right or wrong but what does that say about the current state of the Vikings?

  7. And now the Vikings has lost Tomlinson, one of the front 7 they were actually trying to keep? Just wonderful. Hey but we got a new 7 million dollar TE. Why? I guess with these defensive blunders, the Vikings will have to score even more point to win. Why do I feel we will regret getting Flores?

  8. Good player but that is a monster contract for a player of his age and health. Good luck to Dalvin.

  9. Not to worry about losing any players from the defense, how much worse can they be from last years.

  10. One of their best players on a terrible defense. What could possibly go wrong here? Oops.

  11. The best guy who was on the worst defense. Good job digging him out of the rubble…

  12. I think teams understand how much the salary cap is going to go up and are planning accordingly. Out here where folks are lucky to see even COLA every other year maybe it may be tough to understand where the money is coming from.

  13. eems like a massive over pay for a guy who didn’t even start last year. As the Browns ignore better options and local options like dre’mont jones.

Dre’mont Jones signed with the Seahawks and was off the table.

  14. Tomlinson is being brought in to get sacks. His job will be to line up inside Myles Garrett and play run defense

  15. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! they can have him for that amount of money. DID THEY SEE HOW AWFUL THE VIKINGS D WAS LAST YEAR???? He was part of it! But good for him get that money, he will let opposing RB’s run over him for the next 2 years. LMAO! POACHED!!!! Come on man as CornPop Would say

    ________

So you don’t think being offered way more money than the Vikings would ever pay him had anything to do with his decision?

  17. He’s ok i guess please don’t trade for old WR’s like Cooks or Hopkins trade for a proven middle age WR
like Scary Terry McLaurin i think for the right price he’d be an excellent pickup for the next 7-8 seasons.

    =====

who cares about sacks from his position? the Browns need a run disruptor, who does not miss tackles and clogs the middle. Sacks are gravy if they happen. he is not an edge rusher
