Josh Allen has a new backup quarterback.

The Bills will sign former Texans quarterback Kyle Allen, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Kyle Allen will compete with Matt Barkley to be the Bills’ No. 2 quarterback. Last year’s No. 2, Case Keenum, is leaving to sign with the Texans.

Kyle Allen has spent time in Carolina, Washington and Houston in his NFL career, starting 19 games in all. His career stats include a 62.6 percent completion rate, 4,734 yards, 26 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.

  1. Two QB’s with same last name! Welcome aboard Kyle, but there will be no confusion between you and Josh. Makes it easy on the announcers and uniform staff.

  2. Barkley may as well slide into a coach’s hat at this point, although I’m sure he still likes getting paid as a quarterback.

  3. Might as well bring in a friend of Josh’s. If Josh misses time, the season is over anyway.

  4. Josh’s second cousin twice removed on his mother’s step father’s third cousins kid.
