The Eagles have taken some losses in free agency, but as improbable as it seems, they now are even stronger at cornerback.

Earlier in the day, the Eagles agreed to a two-year, $42 million extension with Darius Slay. Slay himself had expected to leave as a salary-cap casualty a day earlier.

He returns along with James Bradberry, who earlier agreed to a three-year, $38 million deal.

Now, Mary Kay Cabot of reports the Eagles have agreed to terms with free agent cornerback Greedy Williams.

The Browns drafted Greg Newsome II and Martin Emerson Jr. at the position the past two years, signaling Williams’ departure after his rookie contract expired.

He spent four seasons with the Browns after they made him a second-round draft pick in 2019.

Williams missed all of 2020 and played only 11 games in 2022 and ended his time in Cleveland with 21 starts in 39 game appearances.

  1. Wow! This super bowl team just got better. You can never have too many great corners.

  2. HOWIE ! … got him handed to him ! Can move Maddox to safety now if CJGJ won’t come back . They want to ride with Hurts now 🙂

  3. That PHI defense is going to take a massive step back as not only are both of the architects of the 2022 Eagles defense gone in Gannon n Rallis who are now in AZ but their pass rush, entire LB and safety corps have been gutted. Their coverage linebackers n safety’s were the main reasons the Eagles had the #1 pass defense in the NFL and they’re gone. Kyzir White not only was an excellent overall ILB but was the best coverage ILB n the NFL in 22 great in coverage n against TEs and they should of Atleast kept him given he signed for much less than people expected he would get. It’s a lot to ask Dean to step in to fill either Edwards or White shoes in his first year and both need replaced now. Signing CJGJ at SAF now is basically a MUST. Defense is taking a few steps back for sure in 23, they won’t be bad but they’re not going to be elite or anywhere near the level they played at in 2022 that’s for sure. They’ll likely be somewhere in between ranking between 10th to 15TH overall after what they lost.

  4. Watched this guy for 2 years soft as a marshmallow. Williams is a soft player who tends to yield to weaker or stronger players

Greedy may be injury-prone, but he was a VERY solid corner for us. I don’t know what you were watching…

  6. I just hope he does not get slapped by Will Smith agai…oh wait, that was Chris Rock. never mind.
