Andrew Van Ginkel is planning to return to Miami.

The Dolphins are expecting to re-sign Van Ginkel, according to Jason Sarney of USA Today.

A 2019 fifth-round draft pick, Van Ginkel has played his entire career in Miami.

Last year Van Ginkel saw his playing time decline to just 29 percent of defensive snaps, after playing 71 percent the year before. But the Dolphins apparently think he’ll be a good fit in Vic Fangio’s defense, and he’ll be back in Miami this year.

  1. Awesome!! Glad to see it. He’s one of my favorites. Seems to have a knack for making plays and the dude has a motor. I was nervous when he visited New England because he seems like a lunch pail BB guy. Glad he didn’t defect. Fins Up!

  2. Van Ginkel had an emergency appendix operation at the start of the last season. And he was playing 2 weeks later!
He’s always around the ball, happy to have him back!

  3. Great move for Miami. I was worried AVG was going to sign with a rival but Vic Fangio called him and convinced him to come back to Miami. I’m excited to see what Andrew can do in a Fangio defense!

  4. One of the most opportunistic players you will ever see under Flores’ D. If put in the right position, a huge re-sign!

  5. Really pleased we’ve resigned AVG. Quality depth and a great locker room influence.
