Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson disclosed earlier today that he requested a trade on March 2. This would suggest that he’s done with the Ravens.

Given, however, that no other team has shown interest in Jackson, his only play for now will be to keep trying to get the contract he hasn’t gotten in Baltimore.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Jackson was “actively negotiating” with the Ravens, as recently as last week.

Jackson and the Ravens have until July 17 to negotiate a multi-year deal. After that, the two sides can agree to a one-year contract only.

The question then will become whether Jackson will play for $32.4 million, or whether he’ll expect more than the non-exclusive franchise tender before he agrees to show up.

  1. It’s almost as if todays move by Lamar was a calculated negotiation tactic then him being done with the ravens.

  2. It would figure he would land the knife in the team’s back now. He keeps giving me reasons to refer to him by his real name – LAME.

  3. He has no leverage anymore. The Ravens called his bluff and so far no other team has expressed interest.

  4. The worst thing he could do for himself at this point is to sit out this year. It seems a guarantee that’s the choice he’ll make

  5. As a Steeler fan I hope the Ravens sign him to the largest guaranteed contract in NFL history. If you play them in the last third of season he won’t be playing any how!

  6. It seems all the horses in the Lamar Jackson Derby have withdrawn leaving only the usual inane silly season chatter linking him with teams who wouldn’t sign him unless it was a bargain basement contract they could escape from painlessly.

That’s how Ravens felt when the Steelers drafted Kenny Pickett. Except I hope baby hands never misses a single game.lol

  8. There needs to be more articles on Lamar’s contract negotiations and at least a few more on how he doesn’t have an agent and the league is colluding.
