Former NFL running back Phillip Lindsay, who made it to the Pro Bowl as an undrafted rookie five years ago in Denver, has opted to continue his football career in the XFL.

Per multiple reports, Lindsay has signed with the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL.

The 5-2 Sea Dragons played their Week Seven game on Friday night, beating Arlington, 24-15. Seattle has three games left in the 2023 season.

Lindsay, who turns 29 in July, rushed for 1,000 yards in 2018 and 2019. He missed five games in 2020, and he registered only 502 yards for the season.

In 2021, he split time with the Texans and Dolphins. Last year, he appeared in three games with the Colts.

  1. The NFL-“not for long” moniker is most prevalent at the RB position. Amazing how they drop that fast.

  2. That is unfortunate. Lindsay has RB1/RB2 talent but has been pigeonholed as a utility or gimmick back.

  3. Wondering what caused the flame out after such a short run of success. If due to injury i dont see how he can continue to play, albeit performing at a lower level.

Wonder when Lamar Jackson announces he’s jumping to the XFL? Lol.

I know you’re joking. But considering the money disparity, that’s never going to happen.

  5. Sad to see him slip so far. He was a real favorite in Colorado. I hope he has a plan post XFL. His football money won’t last forever.

  6. Phillip is just too one dimensional. Every time he’s on the field the defense knows it’s going to be a run. He doesn’t catch well out of the backfield so he’s not a receiving threat. Just doesn’t allow the offense to disguise much. Too bad because he has a powerful game and a huge heart.
