Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is making progress in his recovery from last year’s torn ACL.

Murray posted a video on Instagram that showed him doing four squats with weights. Murray was wearing a long sleeve over his surgically-repaired right knee while doing the workout.

Murray captioned the video “13 weeks” in reference to how long it has been since he had surgery.

The video also came one day after former Cardinals General Manager Steve Keim discussed Murray on a podcast with former NFL player Chris Long. Keim said Murray “still needs to grow” and that players “have to continue to learn what it’s going to take to be great” while adding that Murray was continuing to get better and that the quarterback “doesn’t want to lose and he doesn’t want to let people down.”

Keim also singled out “the film study, the attention to detail part” as areas where Murray could stand to improve. Murray’s video shows he’s doing what he can on the physical side and a full evaluation of where he stands in Year Five will have to wait until he’s much further down that path.

  1. This “look at me” Millennial/GenZ stuff is why these guys don’t get it. No one cares about your self promoting videos. They care about how you play on Sundays.

  2. He’d inspire more confidence if he showed a video of himself studying the playbook.

  3. You get better not by working on your strengths but by working on your weaknesses. The rather ill conceived homework clause was a clumsy attempt to rectify one of those areas of need. Leadership is even more problematic as it requires a level of maturity hard to attain when raised surrounded by adults who constantly praise his abilities while making excuses for his mistakes and immaturity. Some of those surrounding him are well intended if misguided. Others are hanger-ons who want a share of reflected glory and maybe some financial opportunities as some of his entourage obviously are. Those hoping Murray will achieve NFL glory have their work cut out for them.

  4. With the hood OL he will have in front of him next season and having an actually healthy roster full of weapons and healthy run game Murray will be back playing at a very high top 5-6 level in the MVP Hunt again as he was in 2020/21 silencing a lot of trolls on the internet. He’s one of the best QBs in the league and will show that again this next season posting his best season yet.

  5. Hey, at least he is doing activities related to football in his spare time. Progress!

For some reason I thought you were a Seahawk fan but now I’m REALLY amused to find that your team is the folding house of Cards. You spend a LOT of time criticizing the Rams. FYI..last I checked the Rams are +3500 to win the SB and the Cards are +20000. Reality can be cruel.
