Kansas City is hosting this year’s NFL Draft and the hometown team got to close out the first round on Thursday night.

The reigning Super Bowl champs added edge rusher Felix Anudike-Uzomah to the roster for their repeat bid. The Chiefs were picking at No. 31 rather than No. 32 because the Dolphins were stripped of their first-round pick as a penalty for tampering.

Anudike-Uzomah will be making the short trip from Kansas State to Kansas City to kick off his NFL career. He was the Big 12 defensive player of the year after recording 46 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in his final collegiate season.

The Chiefs released Frank Clark early in their offseason and the first-round pick will be in the mix to pick up some of the role that Clark left behind.

  1. Solid pick! Gives our D a 3 down lineman with some flexibility with Oninihu playing inside or out. #15 will get a weapon in the 2nd or 3rd.

Man it’s got be tough to be a Raiders fan, I bet you even hate puppies.

  3. He grew up a Chiefs fan and was drafted by them in the first round at the draft that was held in his hometown. That’s gotta be an incredible thrill.

  4. Solid and needed pick! And at 31 is excellent. No complaints here. Hope you know your ring size-kid!

  5. I like this pick even though he was projected to go in the 2nd round. The 31st pick is really a high 2nd. I believe Felix Anudike-Uzomah will be very much like Tamba Hali. They are physically about the same size.

  6. Chiefs reloading! Guess they’re still in “Cap He’ll” and a “One year dynasty”! LOL

  7. Was at the Draft. I think the NFL should award the draft to the SB winners every year. Give them a victory lap and a celebration for one more time. give more motivation to the other teams as well.

  8. Anudike-Uzomah looks like a very good pick for a team that is already stacked. Good for him.

  9. I like the pick and glad the Chiefs didn’t move up in the first round. Anudike-Uzomah
is just 21 years old, it will be fun to watch his growth in Kansas City under the guidance of the Chiefs D-line coach Joe Cullen. A few more pounds of muscle and some fine tuning..coupled with George Karlaftis and the edge is looking good for the next four years.

  10. Great Pick and an Amazing Event. Kansas City again showed its stuff as an Exciting Mid-Major City and put Hundreds of Thousands of People Together without Incident.

It is very cool. Unfortunately takes was too much preparation than only having 2-3 months

  12. They could just keep it in KC if they want the super Bowl champs to host every year..
