The Patriots announced the signing of eight draft picks on Friday afternoon.

Kicker Chad Ryland is among the players who have agreed to their four-year rookie deals with the team. Ryland played four years at Eastern Michigan before transferring to Maryland last year. He made 19-of-23 field goals and 39-of-40 extra points in 2022.

The Patriots also signed fourth-round guard Sidy Sow, fifth-round guard Atonio Mafi, sixth-round wide receiver Kayshon Boutte, sixth-round kicker Bryce Baringer, sixth-round wide receiver Demario Douglas, sixth-round defensive back Ameer Speed, and seventh-round defensive back Isaiah Bolden.

New England also signed three undrafted rookies. Louisville quarterback Malik Cunningham, Appalachian State linebacker Jourdan Heilig, and Louisiana tight end Johnny Lumpkin.

  1. Pats draft was pretty underrated.

I really envy that about Belichick. The draft rolls around, and all of a sudden NE has double-digit draft picks. The Bills had 6 going into the draft.

He doesn’t have the “elite QB,” but that’s not always needed to be a SB contender. I thought their draft was unexpected, and kind of genius.

    You get the general idea…

Can you imagine a JETS fan talking smack! Haven’t won anything since 1969!

Absolutely unreal isn’t it? NE has played in 11 SBs since the merger, the Jets with zero.

And the highest of high comedy embarrassing franchise with no tradition whatsoever. lol

And this latest Rodgers embarrassment will make for
another pee your pants funny chapter in Jetsie history.

  4. Except for the 1973 draft of Hannah, Cunningham and Stingley you never know what you are getting in a draft but I agree with billsrthefuture. The Patriots draft is underrated. Even if it doesn’t pan out as hoped I really like how it was constructed.

As for Jets fans getting excited, good for them. Jets fans talking trash is a tad much. The AFC East should be a bear this year but given the strength of schedule I can easily see only the division winner making the playoffs and then having KC or Cincy to beat to get to a super bowl against a well constructed Eagles team. That’s a lot to expect from Aaron Rogers, who the Jets bought with a Devil’s Ticket (sold their soul).

  5. Not sure why people are hating on the Patriots trying to improve one of the worst special teams in the league last year.

  6. I think she’s making fun of the drifters posts to all other teams.

  7. I’m just old enough to remember the Patriots before Tom Brady. And now I seen the Patriots without Tom. Not good, it was always a story about who was the biggest reason for the rings, it’s obvious at this point it wasn’t Belichek.

  8. It looks like a decent draft, trending towards good. If Gonzalez builds towards expectations then this draft could be great. The potential of it is intriguing. Also….the jets are a joke.

  9. This article is not about what the patriots have done the last 20 years. It’s the last 20 weeks.

Not good. Going to finish in last place in the AFC East.

The general idea is that the Pats have a lot of rented headspace if signing a few rookies concerns you enough to be triggered like that.
