The Patriots will honor Tom Brady at their Week One game against the Eagles, and a whole lot of fans want to be there for it.

Eagles at Patriots is currently the most expensive ticket of the 2023 season on the secondary ticket markets.

The average ticket price for that game is $807, according to ESPN. That’s far more than any other game of the 2023 season; the second-most expensive game is Cowboys at 49ers, with an average ticket price of $501.

Brady announced his retirement this offseason and, unlike last year, he appears to have made his final decision. Patriots fans will be ready to give him an enthusiastic embrace to honor a long career.

  1. They could add 50,000 seats to the stadium for this game, and they’d sell those out too.

  2. It is interesting that some people complain about the league’s greed with respect to ticket prices when the secondary market makes it clear that teams could be charging much more. The above shows that the Patriots could have set their ticket prices much higher. Apparently the complainers do not represent everyone when it comes to the value of the NFL experience.

  3. No regular season game is worth $800 a ticket. It’s sad enough that you have to pay over $300 to a streaming service just to watch it at home.

  4. “The average ticket price for that game is $807.”

That’s quite a First World problem.

  5. Just for one play, the first offensive series, salute Tom Brady in true Philly fashion by putting Nick Foles under center.

  6. Eagles fans will pack the stadium to celebrate, once again, handing Brady that SB loss — and then watch The Birds destroy the Pats.

  7. The average price for a single game ticket has become ridiculous. It’s all about the elite. No game is worth that, not one. The fans that used to pack the stadiums don’t anymore….talking the hardcore fans.

  8. At least the patriots fans will have something to cheer for. 34-17 birds

  9. Glory Days…They’ll pass you by, Glory Days…in the wink of a young girl’s eye…Glory Days…

At least it’s not Taylor Swift money.

  10. With the increasing cost of tickets, traveling to a game is now becoming a “once in a lifetime ” deal for the average fan. What the NFL doesn’t realize is when it becomes cheaper to take your family on a week long destination vacation then it is take 3 days to go to a game, people will choose that.
Even my dazn is pretty pricey. I’ll go to a game this season to check it off the list, but I’ll be choosing beaches going forward.

A game ticket is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it, nothing more or less. No one has to pay $300 to watch a single game at home.

  12. Great so all Pats fans can pay all that money to go watch their team get destroyed

  13. I paid $1700 for 2 tickets ($850per ticket) to attend SB 47 (Ravens/49ers) 10 years ago, and we got to sit in the 100s section of the NOLA Superdome.

Plus it was an exciting game.

Folks are paying $800 to hear Brady tell Pats fans how much he loves them at a regular season meeting?

    WOW!

No regular season game is worth more than $200 per seat…….

  14. IMO, Brady had his chance to be honored by the NE faithful. He blew it. He left without expressing gratitude for how well Patriot fans treated him for 20 years.

Brady is a self-centered, vain, mercenary — only out for himself.

I won’t be at the game, but I would boo him if I was.

Let’s honor Steve Grogan before the game, and Mac after he pulls off the upset.

    Go Pats!!!!!! Get lost, Tom!

You’re severeky underestimating the pass rush and secondary of NE.

Top 3 in sacks, led NFL in Ints and their secondary could be better by adding Gonzalez.

Throw in week 1 uncertainties and you’re likely wrong with that kind of prediction.

  16. Coming off the season they had, this is a potentially awkward game for the NE players. I said last week that Philly was a game one possibility and the chance the Pats would be ready to go out of the gate and play up to the level of competition, would be a tough slog. It would be a better game closer to mid season. Hopefully Brady comes to town early and spends a week with the team, hanging out, talking to players, and counseling the QB’s. That would be a nice gesture from him.

Philly fans are like Giants fans. They got fortunate against NE. That’s a feather in the cap because every big game the Patriots won, and there were soooo many, and every Lombardi they won, makes those other Lombardi’s they did not win shine just a bit brighter, but they cannot enjoy that and overcome their deep seated jealousy. While these teams have had success, they realize they are not The New England Patriots. Nobody is. The Patriots were the Goliath laying waste to the league’s precious parity narrative. Everyone else was David. Nobody wins them all. Be thankful you caught them when they had their weakest Super Bowl rosters, injuries, or critical benchings. And the Philly Special is a play they got from watching NE film from earlier in the season. It’s not your play. I suppose the faux tribalism is what the league is selling. It takes the place of people’s ancient nature. Makes me wonder if there are better ways to spend time.

  17. How long ago was it that these threads were overrun with fans claiming they were done with the NFL because a subset of players took a knee to bring attention to civil rights activism?

The NFL is as popular as ever.

Figures that now that the Patriots are trash the casuals would hop off.

  19. Patriots have a Superbowl caliber defense. This game will not be close to a blowout unless Rhamondre Stevenson has a big day.

Pats do actually have a shot in this game…If Brady suits up and plays
    —-
    Then they’d lose 63-0

  21. Patriots have a Superbowl caliber defense.
    —-
It’s not even training camp yet.

  22. The NFL could control the secondary market if they wanted to but, they get $ rewarded in mostly hidden financial benefits from the companies that sell them.
    That said,
It’s unbelievable people will pay that kind of money to watch a game that honors Tom Brady or the Patriots in general after they got caught secretly videotaping opposing coaches’ signals during games from 2000 to 2007 and won 3 Super Bowls in that time frame.

  23. Can’t wait for the big day I’ll be there. It will be worth every penny. The Patriots should retire the #12 that afternoon, before Tampa Bay does. The current players carrying him in on a throne. Belichick and Kraft must kneel before him and beg him for forgiveness for letting him leave and not paying him what he deserved. The entire crowd, the players, the media all will kneel and bow their heads to thank him for 20 years of the greatest success ever. Chanting “we were never worthy”. His critics, like goodellmustgo and iloveyouneighbor, sacrificed before him in ritual executions. Nothing but the best for the GOAT as he blesses us by returning for Tom Brady Day. Thank you Tom, Thank you so very much.

  24. The Tommy cult thinks only the coach benefited from spygate and not the QB 😂😂😂

While it’s nice that you have deep pockets and don’t mind paying exorbitant prices for things, many of us don’t. People are turning away from the NFL experience due to this. I am one of them. If you want to pay 800 to see a football game in person, that’s fine. But don’t speak for the normal people out there who can’t or don’t want to.

Thanks to BB for drafting and developing the lowly 6th rd pick while drafting Garoppolo to fix Brady’s subpar postssasons (2007-2012).

Once again, the NFL is not setting this price. It is being determined by the resale market which the NFL has nothing to do with. That market is showing that there are plenty of people willing to pay $800. Your fellow fans are setting the price.

Obviously you have not turned away from the NFL experience since you commenting on a NFL website. Perhaps you should not speak for people who want to go to the games. If you can’t afford the price that’s strictly a you problem.

Spygate is as big of a fantasy as Brady supposedly smashing his phone. The conspiracy nuts have now expanded it to a 7 year period of taping including the opposing players tying their cleats. These people are completely unhinged.

  37. The touchback grifter guy will probably be there with his Belichick under Roos flying from the masts. Then he’ll be ramping up dirty joe and that one pathetic 2nd in charge tramp.Should be exciting

  38. Brady had nothing to do with those trophies, it was all BB. And Mac Jones is better than Tom Brady. That’s what I’m reading on here. Wait, What?

  39. “Patriots have a Superbowl caliber defense.”

    Yes…

If all they do is play the Texans, Colts and Cardinals.

  40. The high tickets price maybe driving average fans away from stadium experience but it makes TV more attractive. The NFL cannot lose. They put butts in the seats even at high prices and forcing eyeballs on TV. The NFL is practically printing money.

  41. It’s nice for the Patriots to have a QB that doesn’t need to cheat to be good. Been a very long time since they had one.
