The Broncos signed three of their draft picks and they’ve agreed to a deal with another one on Tuesday.

Agent Richard Roberts told Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette that second-round pick Marvin Mims has agreed to his rookie deal. The second-round pick will sign a four-year contract with the Broncos.

Third-round linebacker Drew Sanders is the only Denver draft pick who has not agreed to a contract yet.

Mims averaged 22 yards per catch during the 2021 season and then posted 54 catches for 1,083 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games at Oklahoma last year. Mims also averaged 11.8 yards per punt return during his time with the Sooners.

Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, KJ Hamler, Marquez Callaway, Kendall Hinton, and Montrell Washington join Mims in the wide receiver group in Denver.

  1. Must be the altitude that makes Bronco’s GMs so WR crazy. Thought it was just Elway but they can’t draft enough of them.

  2. Marvin Mims was drafted to eventually replace oft-injured KJ Hamler. Both men have similar size and skill sets. Marquez Callaway was a solid offseason depth signing at WR. Callaway played well in a backup role for the Saints.

  3. Even though some won’t make te cut, that’s a great receiver room. A decent coach should be able to do something with that.

  4. It smells like they want to get away from Courtand Sutton’s contract. That way they’d have a cheaper and younger grou.p

  5. Happy to see they’ve agreed to terms, excited to see what this guy can bring to the team.

Sutton has lost a step, and there is uncertainly about Patrick coming off his ACL. Both could see an early exit after this season. The dead money isn’t terrible. Hamler is always injured, it just hasn’t worked out.

Anyone commenting about too many WR’s on this team, is a clown.
