Vikings first-round pick Jordan Addison has agreed to his first NFL contract.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Vikings signed Addison on Wednesday. It’s a four-year deal worth over $13.73 million with a team option for a fifth season.

That option must be exercised before the start of the fourth season and it is fully guaranteed once it is picked up.

Addison caught 100 passes for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns at Pitt during the 2021 season and then transferred to USC in 2022. He had 59 catches for 875 yards and eight touchdowns for the Trojans and the Vikings made him the 23rd overall pick in April.

With Addison signed, the Vikings now have their entire 2023 draft class under contract.

  1. Enjoy your next five years with the Vikings. Because with the contract JJ is about to sign, you’re not going to get another.

  2. I still feel like the Vikings should have gone defense for their 1st round pick….but will wait and see how AddiSON fare alongside JefferSON, HockenSON, and MattiSON as well as Osborn.

  3. He will probably be a minimal impact player given the Vikings have no RB core and their defense is one of the worst in the league. They better hope that OLine somehow becomes a true wall and gives Kirk all day to throw, otherwise it’s going to be a king and mediocre year for the Vikings

  5. Gotta believe he’s already thinking about his second contract with another team.

Vikings had the 31st ranked defense last year and managed to lose talent and get worse. Even if they drafted a guy who was all-pro his rookie year, it’s not like he could elevate them more than 29th, at best? Seems the Vikings are accepting the fact they’re going to have to score 40+ a game to have a chance this year.

Their offense ranked 9th last year. It’s the second year in the same system (first time for Cousins with Vikings), their O-line stayed intact, Addison is an upgrade over Thielen, and even if Cook leaves, their passing game is what drives this bus. It’s almost like you don’t now football at all. I mean, if their defense remains really bad, that would mean their offense will be behind and have to pass even more. Which means Addison will get even more balls thrown his way.

Except, you’d first have to believe the “talent” they got rid of was still playing well. And you’d be wrong. The guys they replaced simply didn’t play well last year. Or at least, they fell off the cliff in the last half of the season (Z.Smith). Imagine somebody saying the Vikings will tank this year because their 31st ranked D got worse. Lol. Wow.

  9. Get your popcorn ready cheeseheads, he and JJ along with Osborn and Hock are gonna go off on you.

  10. The Vikings desperately needed a receiver after Jefferson’s nothing burger down the stretch and in the playoffs.

  11. And their offensive line continues to rank in the bottom half of the league each year while they pile up on skill positions.

  12. This is the year we see the Vikings toppled from the top spot in the NFCN. No direspect meant but they didn’t do well in the draft. Packers will be in 1st place, followed by the Lions in 2nd place, with the Vikings next, in 3rd, and the Bears in 4th place.

  13. Lots of comments about last years defense. In Flores i trust. They won’t be dominant but they will be better than last year, somewhere around 20th in the league.

They’re going to go off on us fans? On Twitter? Storm the stands at Lambeau after another beat down?

  15. That’s great, another guy running wide open Kirk won’t see in time or he’ll force the ball to Jefferson. 4th and 8

  16. Addison could end up being a pretty good #2 but they should of went defense and came back to WR in RD2 or 3. Stanfords WR Michael Wilson is more gifted than Addison bigger and has the skill set of a true one, if not for injuries he woulda went a lot higher and they were significant injuries either but fluke soft tissue type injuries. At 6”2/220 as polished of a route runner as he is allowing him to play extremely fast on the field he’s going to be a beast in the NFL especially with WRs like Hopkins, Hollywood n Mooore to lean on as a rookie around him. Vikings woulda been smarter to bolster their defense and then taken a more talented WR like Wilson later in the draft.

  17. This guy was boasting on draft night how he was going to score lots of touchdowns and then less than a week later was declaring himself and JJ as the best receiver duo in the league. How about at least playing one game before making ridiculous statements. Definitely not humble, those types are more likely to be busts in the NFL. Not only did he disrespect his teammate K.J. Osborn by automatically declaring himself the number 2 receiver, but he put a target on his back for all of those hard hitting dbs out there who want to bring him down a few notches. Pride comes before the fall!

  18. I’m telling you all right now-look out! I couldn’t care less whether you understand me or not but the reality is that last year’s offense will be much improved and that includes the offensive line. Add a BRIAN FLORES led defense which is extremely aggressive and downhill oriented and the Minnesota Vikings will be a force to be reckoned with-get your laughs in now because when the season starts-it won’t be funny!

  19. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: there wasn’t a defensive player on the board who was going to fix this defense. Every game will be a shootout. I think Addison is going to put up some big numbers this season as they’ll be forced to throw, the defenses will obviously focus on JJ and Hockinson. Kirk will put ridiculous numbers this season as the only way they’ll be able to win is try and out offense their opponent.

  20. The Vikes drafted the best player available rather than drafting for need like a rush LB that could have been had in the 2nd round.

JJ avg 106yds a game since the bye week. I wouldn’t call that a nothing burger.

If he was so good as the Hope sellers would have you believe, you’d think there would have at least been one defensive free agent that would have wanted to sign to play for him. But the Vikings only lost talent in that department. Guys would rather play elsewhere. Hmmm…

Hey…how about if you’re not aware that the Vikings didn’t have a round 2 pick, you go ahead and sit this one out? Ya. Exactly why fans are fans, and not working in the nfl.

Ummmmm….the Vikings have signed 6 defensive guys in free agency. Is 6 more than zero? I think it is.

It’s debatable that a small, skinny, not particularly fast or strong wide receiver with short arms was the best player available at the time. In round 3 or 4 perhaps.

Except they did sign an edge rusher and DB in free agency.

  27. If Addison is still making great strides in year 4 and only knowing the entire playbook in year 4 I’ll shake my head then

This is gold. Even as a Packers fan I had to give you a thumbs up.

  29. WR2 was the Vikings biggest need in the draft. CB was deeper and they drafted two CBs and a safety in the first four rounds last year. They just didn’t get much out of them because of injuries. They should be healthy this year. Thielen and Osborne did not get separation last year.

  30. Just love these haters who think they know more than pro scouts who have done this for many years. Come back to the site y’all when the D will be ranked at least middle of the pack and the O is blowing teams up.
    SKOL

  31. Did they draft him to return punts? Too small for WR in the NFL and his speed is meh.

  32. Vikings are not going win all of those close games like they did last year, with a negative point differential. They were a disaster waiting to happen and in the playoffs it occurred. No reason to expect anything better than a 8 or 9 win max this year.

  33. It’s been said many times, but let’s recap……year 2 in the offense for KOC and Cousins, full year with Hock, upgrade on WR2 (yes, Thielen was much older, slower, and injured), KJ Osborne much improved last year, OL getting better (It’s true!). Packers and Lions fans: “their offense will be much worse”. You guys should stick with ripping the Vikings D. At least that is deserved.

  34. For all the panting about how good the Viking offense supposedly is, they scored fewer points last season than they did under Zimmer in either of his last two seasons.

  35. The new kid should be a solid #1 WR for our squad. A big area of need/concern filled, hopefully.
