Vikings sign Lucky Jackson

The Vikings have added a receiver from the XFL.

Minnesota announced on Tuesday that the club has signed Dontavian “Lucky” Jackson.

Jackson played for the D.C. Defenders this year, making 36 catches for 572 yards with five touchdowns. After playing his college ball at Western Kentucky, Jackson also played in The Spring League and the CFL in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

As a corresponding move, the Vikings waived edge rusher Kenny Willekes. A seventh-round pick in 2020, Willekes missed all of the 2020 and 2022 seasons due to injury. But he recorded 2.5 sacks, two tackles for loss, and seven QB hits in six games for Minnesota in 2021.

  7. Vikings signed a wide receiver with the same name as one the Packers just drafted. I guess it makes sense since camp hasn’t started and GB hasn’t had to trim its roster yet to fill up the Vikings’.

    The way Minnesota has been emulating everything Green Bay is becoming embarrassing. About the only thing they’re not copying is winning championships.

  10. To use a line from the cheesers on a story about their new/old QB — the amount of cheeser comments on Vikings articles is a direct correlation to the amount they worry about finishing below the Vikings in the NFCN yet again.

  13. Tbh what’s the point?? We do t need anymore receivers. We need o lineman and defensive players. This new Vikings management is so annoying with their tunnel vision on receivers…smh!!

    90 guys come to camp. 53 make the roster. The more, the better to look at. Special teams needs guys that can run and tackle. And not everybody they look at can be a starter. So settle down.

  15. Eh, you never know where you might find a gem in this league. Who knows maybe he’ll surprise everyone and be a decent contributor. Crazier things have certainly happened in the past
