Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett had a brief scare earlier this week.

The SUV that Pickett was using was stolen, Marcie Cipriani of WTAE reports. The team’s playbook was in the backseat.

The second-year player was making an appearance at a car dealership near Pittsburgh on Wednesday when the 2023 Genesis he was using was stolen from the parking lot.

It didn’t take police long to recover the vehicle and the playbook.

The suspect left his personal vehicle at the dealership, and police ran the license plate on the car to find him. The stolen car was recovered at the suspect’s house 30 minutes after it was taken.

A man was arrested in the theft.

  1. The guy was probably hired by Big Ben to steal the car. It’s all a part of his plan to sabotage Pickett. Diabolical!

  2. Kenny Pickett is about as responsible as a 14 year old with hands the size of a 6 year old. Good luck Pittsburgh. You are going need it.

  3. I thought teams just used tablets now and could wipe the playbook from the device whenever they wanted. The Steelers are actually using printed out binders?

  4. The playbook said….

Kenny you still throw way too many Picketts. 🏈 🧐

  5. Matt canadas playbook is run run 3 yard pass anyway. That being said, where was BB this week?

Someone that’s a fan of the Ravens really shouldn’t mock other teams’ QBs. Lamar struggles to finish a season lately and he definitely struggles to succeed in the playoffs if he’s healthy enough to even play. I guess defenses are figuring out how to contain him because frankly his performance has been underwhelming after his MVP season.

  7. The thief, after thumbing through the playbook, thought that he had stolen a local kindergarten teacher’s car and immediately felt regret.

  8. By the play of the offense, I would have thought that he had lost his playbook last season.

  9. A Genesis is a high-end Hyundai. I guess someone stole it using a USB cord.

  10. That’s sounds more like a misunderstanding. Was “the suspects” car In service parking or inside the shop?

  11. How dumb can a criminal get? Having said that, he should have been able to read the playbook given that it was probably written with crayons.

  12. It was Lamar. He tried to read the playbook but after 10 minutes trying to read he got to the fourth word and didn’t see “run” so he gave up.

My dude threw 1 pick in 8 games after the bye and people are still running around with this nonsense

  14. Off season intrigue….for trolls. Judging from the comments the shallow end of the gene pool must be a lonely place today.

  15. Please just let it be the Browns organization that gets their hands on the playbook. They wouldn’t know what to do with it.

  16. The Steelers absolutely must fine Kenny the maximum for leaving his playbook in an unlocked vehicle.
    But they won’t.

  17. Love the inept Ravens fans in here, throwing shade at Pickett. Their QB has his mom as an agent, and can’t finish seasons because he tucks the ball in after one read. Can’t wait to see Jackson immaturely throwing his helmet on the sideline…again.
